On 16 May 2025, 24 UNIMAS students participated in the Jelajah Malaysia Digital @ Kuching programme, an MDEC initiative aimed at accelerating the digital transformation of Sarawak’s creative industries. Hosted under the Creative Digital cluster, the one-day forum convened industry leaders, government representatives and entrepreneurs to:
- · Examine the key barriers to digital adoption among local creative firms
- · Identify practical strategies for overcoming transformation challenges
- · Showcase best practices in digital content development, from game design to animation and other creative technologies
Throughout the programme, participants engaged in interactive workshops that traced the end-to-end digitalization journey, from ideation to market launch, drawing on both government frameworks and private-sector case studies. Jelajah Malaysia Digital @ Kuching underscores MDEC’s commitment to fostering a vibrant digital ecosystem in Borneo. By bridging academia, industry and government, the initiative empowers local creative enterprises, stimulates economic growth and inspires Malaysia’s youth to lead the nation’s digital future.
