Co-organized by Sunway iLabs at Sunway University and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) and proudly supported by the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE), LaunchX continues to be Malaysia’s premier university startup accelerator designed to empower student founders to transform bold, validated ideas into real-world impact through action, not theory.
This year, we received an overwhelming 122 applications from university students across Malaysia. After a rigorous selection process, 45 teams have been accepted into the cohort representing some of the most promising student-led innovations in the country.
To kick off the program, we hosted a high-energy Kickstart Session last weekend on 25–26 October 2025 at Sunway University. This wasn’t just an orientation, it was a launchpad for mindset transformation and readiness. The session was carefully designed to prepare students for the entrepreneurial journey ahead, featuring:
- Two hands-on workshops focused on startup fundamentals and founder mindset
- A pitching session to VCs, where students received direct feedback on their ideas and learned what to refine and improve
- A reflection session with startup founders, offering real-world insights into the challenges and grit required to build a venture
- And deep conversations around ownership, growth, and execution
Success in LaunchX depends entirely on the students themselves. There are no shortcuts, no simulations. Only real challenges, real decisions, and real growth. And over the next few months, teams will:
- Attend online workshops led by industry experts
- Build and test their MVPs
- Collect real traction and user feedback
- Refine their pitch and business model
- And demonstrate their commitment through consistent execution
Only the most focused and driven teams will earn a spot at Pre-Demo Day, hosted at UTM in January 2026, where they’ll pitch their progress and prove they’re ready for the next level.
From there, the Top 15 teams will advance to Phase 2, the most exclusive stage of the program featuring deeper startup challenges, investor exposure, and culminating in Demo Day in April 2026.
UNIMAS have send Team Lettuboost to participate in this programme.
